On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the Friends of Clare County Parks & Recreation will be holding thier 14th Annual Fundraiser, The Gateway Affair.
They invite all interested members of the community, individuals, organizations, and businesses alike to join them in a celebration of the varied recreational opportunities that abound our county. They welcome your input and help in the upkeep, development, and promotion of these resources not just for today, but for future generations. They recognize with proper handling, Clare County Parks & Recreation facilities can increase the tourist trade for the area, bringing economic benefits for all businesses.
The “Gateway Affair” will take place from 5-8 p.m. at the Clare Moose Family Center. The casual fun filled evening will include a dinner, entertainment a raffle, and a silent auction featuring donated goods and services from local contributors. A cash bar will also be available. A short informative presentation will provide updates on the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail, Recreational Grant Programs, and other such matters. Tickets for the evening are $30 a person, and tickets for 12 and under are $10 each. Fifty-fifty raffle tickets will be $2 apiece and will be available for those in attendance.
Needless to say, this event and the growth of recreational activities in Clare County would not be possible without the support of people like you.
